The people of society put pressure on the people, and they escape at any cost. The educated people do not get jobs. The people ask repeatedly, and they irritate. Meanwhile, we are not brought up strong enough to handle the illogical questions of society. However, it’s a foolish act that we try to meet society’s expectations. Approximately every responsible person is fighting with their insecurities. People with solid mindsets easily cope with their issues; additionally, people who are not strong enough to handle ups and downs prefer to take drugs.
Access
It’s sad to discuss drugs like alcohol, hashish, and cocaine. Addiction is a complex term that demands treatment and support of a positive social circle. The quick availability is setting a trend to get temporary relief from the problem. Drugs get rid of the issue for a short time, and when the effect of drugs fades again, problems are gathered. The campaigns are working in Pakistan to deal with drug addictions.
Parent’s neglect
The parents are too busy these years, and therefore, they cannot give their children time. Some are job ions while others are stuck in household work. They prefer to have Android devices in their hands rather than giving them plenty of time. The strong bond between children and parents did not form; hence, they prefer drugs to release their problems. Kids are not strong enough to bear the stress of their issues; therefore, they become addicted to drugs and indulge in immoral activities.
Media Influence
This is also an important factor to consider because no one is left blind regarding the use of the net. Children watch content that is beyond their age. Meanwhile, the affection of the media drags them in a misleading way. They become mature before their age, hence demolishing their innocent nature.

UNODC
According to a report from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, millions of people are indulging in drug addiction. The number of drug users remains alarmingly high, with a predictable several million persons engaging in substance abuse. The data shows 78% of males and 22% of females are addicted to drugs. The UNODC calculates that over 800,000 Pakistanis aged 15 to 64 frequently use heroin, overwhelming an estimated 44 tons yearly. The economic impact of the illegal drug trade is surprising, producing up to $2 billion each year.

The province of Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tolerates a disproportionately high burden, with close to 11 percent of the population addicted to drugs, largely cannabis. In 2013, Baluchistan reported 280,000 drug users.

Drugs are executing our youth as useless as termites render wood. They are becoming a plague in our society, slowly taking over the bodies and thoughts of our youngsters and interpreting the younger generation as ineffective. The trafficking of drugs in Pakistan poses a significant threat to our youth, as their addiction signifies the destruction of Pakistan’s future.

According to surveys in Pakistan, 7 million people are drug consumers, comprising students, beggars, employers, and general duty servants. As a nation facing plentiful challenges, many crack to drugs to escape their problems, with unemployment being a major issue leading to mental health struggles, depression, and even suicide.
The proximity to Afghanistan, a major producer of drugs, aggravates Pakistan’s drug problem. With Afghanistan’s instability, drug production serves as a means to control poverty and other issues. The high demand for drugs in Pakistan further fuels this cycle, leading to devastating consequences for both nations. Additionally, the erosion of virtuous and moral values, parental inattention, westernization, and the effect of the media add to the growing leaning of drug compulsion among youth.
Impact of Drug
The impact of drug addiction extends beyond individual health, significantly affecting Pakistan’s economy and security. Health issues related to drug abuse, particularly mental health problems, are on the rise. Drug addicts often engage in criminal activities, posing a threat to national security. Moreover, the negative perception of Pakistan as a result of drug-related issues deters tourists and investors, further harming the nation’s reputation and economic prospects.
Identification of Drug Addicts
Youngsters using drugs can be identified with symptoms like profound body emancipation, nervous disturbance, long home absences, and loss of appetite. Additionally, difficulty in breathing, more money demands, seclusion, laziness, constipation, pale face, long sleeping habits, apathy, tremors in fingers, and disinterest in studies and work.
Moreover, the other everyday observations include slurred speech, unprovoked anger, red eyes, and circles under the eyes. The negligence of personal hygiene, and marks and traces of abuse on the body with extreme effects of physical itchiness, coma, and even death.
Effects of Drugs on the Human Body
The human brain is badly affected by drug abuse because it controls the whole bodily functions. The consumption of drugs damages the ability of decision-making of the brain, confidence, ability to learn, and memory. In this way, the control of our body is ended, and drugs take over the mechanism and activities of the whole body wholly. For the control of drug hazards, some measures must comprehend the educational and social segments.
Awareness Day
Each year, the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on June 26 to raise awareness of the massive problems that illegitimate drugs cause to society. The illegal acquisition and use of alcohol and related drugs are also significant factors that produce a culture of illicit activities like different types of arguments and destruction.
Different law-implementing interventions, especially the Police, are also found involved in such disgraceful activities, which provide the lawbreakers with a suitable atmosphere to carry out their illegal jobs straightforwardly.
